Vaginal microbiota: why self-treating every change is not a good idea
The vagina contains microorganisms that form part of its ecosystem. Odor, burning, itching or unusual discharge may have infectious, inflammatory, hormonal or dermatologic causes.
The risk of treating blindly
Candidiasis and bacterial vaginosis require different management, and not all discharge is caused by infection. Recurrent episodes may require examination and specific tests.
Before choosing an adjunct
